As recommended by all dental doctors around the world, you must brush your teeth twice a day. It includes waking up in the morning and before going to bed. Use soft-bristle toothbrushes so that your teeth don’t lose the layer of enamel over time. Make sure you change it every 2-3 months.

    Use Fluoride Toothpaste

Not only Fluoride toothpaste works best to maintain the PH level of your mouth, but it also prevents tooth decaying and reduces the chance of severe conditions like gingivitis. No matter what toothpaste you opt for, it must have an ADA seal. It shows that the regulating authority approves the fluoride for commercial use.

    Floss Your Teeth Post Meal

If you’re thinking that brushing your teeth alone is all you need to keep your tooth and gums clean, you might be overlooking the delicacy of the situation. Some places in our mouth are hard for the brush to reach, let alone cleaning it. The gap between the two teeth is the common place where a cavity starts.

A mere five minutes of thorough flossing can come out as a considerable difference for saving a tooth from a possible chance of growing cavity.

Avoid Sugary & Acidic Food Products and Drinks

Food products with high levels of sugar quantity candies and chocolates are one of the significant sources of building up of the cavity in your tooth. Sugar increases the chances of plaque in our mouth. Therefore, you must limit the consumption of sugary products for the sake of healthy teeth and gums. If you can’t resist the need, then make sure to brush your teeth post a sweet intake.

A quick application of mouthwash post a meal is a lot better than using water to get rid of the food debris stuck between your teeth. Although it works best in cleaning your mouth & curbing the acidic level of your mouth, you must not consider it as a substitution for flossing or brushing your teeth.

It would be best if you had a personal mouthwash for regular use post meals. Just as fluoride toothpaste, make sure you check the fluoride sign on the toothpaste.

    Clean Your Tongue as Well

The tongue is often the most neglected part that people don’t necessarily clean. Just as the food debris stuck between your teeth after a meal, your tongue might be housing a lot of food accumulation. Not only it can nullify the effect of brushing your teeth, but it may also contain plague elements that are harmful to your oral health.

Make sure to gently brush clean your tongue every time you clean your teeth. It also helps in preventing the bad odor of your mouth.

    Drink Plenty of Water

Water is one of the best resources that are readily available to clean your mouth after you eat anything. The fact that you might not be carrying toothbrushes to the office, you can use water to rinse the sticky thoroughly, and acidic food debris stuck inside your mouth.

Although it is not as reliable a solution as that of flossing, brushing, or mouthwash, it works fine to balance the acidic-alkaline level of your mouth.

    Eat Crunchy Foods and Vegetables

As opposed to eating sticky food that is hard to get rid of, you can eat crunchy foods and vegetables. It doesn’t necessarily stick to your tooth, and the mere use of water is good enough to get rid of all the food debris and other accumulations.

You might like to eat ready to eat food and canned products, for the sake of your oral health; you must eat crunchy and fibrous food products.

    Conclusion

The essential thing to know for maintaining good oral health is to know what kind of food serves best to your teeth. Although the tips mentioned in the article plays an important role, you must visit a dentist twice a year for best results.
