Some of the common cancers that are triggered by smoking are lung, mouth, and esophagus cancer. However, is this the only health hazard of which smokers must be wary? Certainly not! Smoking can bring a long chain of health problems in its trails. These problems can damage different organs in your body permanently and can bring down the quality of your life in a tremendous manner. Cardiac problem

Smoking as a habit increases the chances of the cardiac problem by 2 to 4 times. This is why smokers are at great risk of getting affected by cardiovascular problems. People who smoke less than five cigarettes a day can also have early cardiovascular problems. The walls of the blood vessels often thicken due to smoking and space through which the blood flows in them gets narrower. This is why smokers often experience greater blood pressure. With time clots can also appear. Such clots when obstructs the flow of blood to the brain leads to strokes.  

Respiratory problems

Smoking can potentially damage your lungs. The habit slowly affects the airways and the alveoli or the small air sacs in your lungs. Some of the common lung problems caused due to smoking are COPD, chronic bronchitis, and also emphysema. If the person is suffering from asthma, smoking can make the situation worse. As compared to non-smokers, smokers are 12 to 13 more likely to get affected and die due to COPD.

Smoking can lead to severe fertility challenges in both men and women. In women, smoking can make it much difficult for women to ever conceive.
